 ABOUT US

OMTF is a network of companies working to create an environment in which opera and music theatre can flourish.  We represent the interests of professional organisations producing and promoting opera and music theatre throughout the UK.

Established in 1993 to promote and support the work of the small and mid-scale opera and music theatre companies, OMTF now represents the sector with members from the smallest two-person company to mid-scale touring companies, venues and the education departments of the largest companies.

OMTF works for the sector

  • Communicating key events and initiatives in the arts world as they affect the sector
  • Encouraging and facilitating networks to pursue specific issues and initiatives
  • Lobbying key public bodies and responding to government consultations
  • providing opportunities for the sector to meet and debate current issues at members' days and biennial national conferences
  • Building knowledge about the sector through research and publications
